Coffey Modica O’Meara Capowski co-founder Michael Coffey has been tapped to participate in Magna Legal Services’ annual competitive mock trial conference “Chopped for CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia)” scheduled for June 22-23 at La Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

“It is an honor and privilege to be asked to compete in this mock trial competition,” said Mike, who participated in this event a few years ago. “Not only is it for a great cause, but it always features some of the best trial attorneys in the country. It’s fun to flex our muscles a bit.”

The mock trial is part of a two-day program that attracts approximately 400 people from many of the country’s leading insurance companies and top claims executives. It will begin with a micro panel workshop and dinner reception on day one, followed by the mock trial on day two. It will feature four trial attorneys who go head-to-head presenting their best case to a panel of judges – claims executives and corporate counsel.

After each phase of the trial (opening statements, cross-examination of a witness, and closing arguments), the judges will vote and CHOP one lawyer from the competition, ultimately leaving one champion at the end.

The winner will win up to $20,000.00 in donations to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia made in their firm’s name.

Registration for the event is available on the Magna Legal Services website.
